I have had the good fortune to experience both small business as well as corporate marketing. The two were amazingly different . . . yet shouldn’t be.
In the corporate world, our weekly marketing meetings were of the utmost importance, though most people grumbled and groaned about attending. The reality was . . . the meetings helped to co-ordinate our efforts and drove sales. Skipping meetings was frowned upon due to the high importance team work played within the corporate structure.
My vision started out simply to give small business people the same marketing advantage as corporations, with a group of people marketing each others business. As we progressed, we found the same grumbling and groans about attendance so we took it upon ourselves not to enforce rules for attendance, but to help educate our members on the importance of commitment.
Once we found that education in the form of peer coaching on the matter of commitment had a positive effect, we decided to create Business Topics to continue the education. We know that “EDUCATION NEVER ENDS” If it does, your business will fail.
At this point, we were not only a Business Network, but a Network that takes it to the next level and educates.
